Joey Doucette

With over 25 years of experience in most areas of the show business industry, Joey Doucette offers a wide range of artistic and professional experience, including but not limited to dance teaching, choreography for stage and television, direction and show production. He has written and created a variety of production shows throughout the United States, Latin America, Asia, and Europe, and has taught many styles of dance across North and South America as well as in many European and Asian countries. He has performed at the famous Moulin Rouge in Paris, Gateway Playhouse in New York, as a guest artist with a variety of ballet, modern and jazz companies, and has performed on television and in many corporate events in the United States and Mexico.  Joey directed, danced with and/or choreographed for Tony Bennett, Chita Rivera, Julio Iglesias, Jay Leno, Gloria Estefan, Tito Puente, and Regis Philbin on TV and in corporate events in Las Vegas, New York City, Miami, and in Mexico. His work has been seen in over 45 different countries.

At the age of 16, Joey was awarded a full scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet School and while studying there he also trained with the world famous Luigi. Other influential teachers include David Howard, Alfredo Corvino, Rhett Dennis, JoJo Smith, Claude Thompson, Bonnie Diaz, and Wendy Johnson. 

Joey has taught throughout the USA, Mexico, Italy, France, Romania, Latvia, Ukraine, Korea, Portugal, and more. He currently is a guest teacher at the Luigi Jazz Center in New York City, and has guested at the University of Mexico, UC- San Diego and at the Virginia School of the Arts under the direction of Petrus Bosman. Most recently, he has taught and choreographed a variety of jazz ballets for the Alabama School of Fine Arts’ Holiday and Annual Showcases and was the first western choreographer to create a show for the Gold Coast Company’s chain of theaters in China.

Known as an energetic and stylized teacher/choreographer, he has enjoyed teaching all levels from children to adults from beginners to professionals.
